Just My Opinion…
I hate it that people think conservatives are against saving lives and helping those who need it. It is crazy to me how much propaganda I see saying people, like me, don’t care about our country. We do. Speaking for myself and the numerous people that share my views I have to say that we are misunderstood. I do not object to lending a helping hand to get people back on their feet when they need it.
What I do object to is giving people free money for no reason. I have a problem with a country keeping people down by handing them money for every tiny complaint they have. You can not help people get on their feet by throwing money at them forever. All it does it put us in debt when we spend money we don’t have to give.
“I can’t read because my school let me down. Can I have disability?”
My partner has degenerative disc disease. This is something that effects people differently and his is, unfortunately, a severe case. He is unable to work because he is no longer able to lift, bend, reach…etc etc. So here is the hyper motivated person that has started two business in the past and one more recently not to mention other jobs he has worked in the retail industry. All of these things have been taken away from him because he is no longer able to perform many of the duties that these jobs require. He is denied disability even though he is in need of it because he is not “old enough” to require assistance. According to those in charge if he were 50+ he would be allowed disability but since he is not 50 he is out of luck. My partner would LOVE to be able to get out there and get things done. He is the most motivated and creative person I know. But when the time comes that he could really use some help he is denied.
On the other hand you have so many people taking advantage of a system that hands out money like it doesn’t cost us anything…and people support this to the death! Why? It is nice to say that you support the support of those less fortunate is it not? You have the right, at that point, to say “I am a good person because I give money to those who need it” except most of those people now are just raking in the money for nothing. They don’t have to go get a job because they know that they have a check on the way and hey, if they have more children that’s more money! If someone who can’t read because they never learned in school is able to get disability why is it that someone who can’t work because of something they can’t fix get it? You can teach yourself to read. You can not, however, teach your back to not feel the pain of a degenerated disc. It is like all these, if you will pardon the phrase, bleeding hearts out there just shout about these things to make themselves feel better. Throwing money at everything doesn’t actually help.
“Help this person because they were born in the ghetto and that is sad. He doesn’t want to get a job so lets give him free cable (for the educational programming of course) and while we are at it, lets pay his rent, food costs, car payments and his other bills so that he can get his latest girl of the month a Prada purse with all the money he gets…because poor people deserve designer bags too you know!”
When they see someone with a legitimate problem all they can do is say:
“I am so sorry sir we just don’t have the funding for you right now. But you can work, right? I mean, it is just a little back pain, right?”
I get that I might be a little bias because it is an issue affecting my partner but it affects millions of people. Because there is no need for people to go get a job when they get assistance those who really need the help are out of luck? Where does that make sense? Why is it that you have to fit a certain image of poverty to get the assistance? Should my partner and I just stop cleaning the house? Should we wear tattered or dirty clothing? Should I just say that the economy is the reason he can’t work? What about where we live? Should we move from the apartment we live in that is protected and warm for a dump with cockroaches and gunshots to get some help? It seems that those are the things that you need to be seriously considered for help from those people that are so concerned with their fellow man. Well that and he never learned to read.
So why does someone deserve free money for not wanting to get a job anyway? I realize that jobs are not easy to get for a lot of people right now but for Christ Sakes TRY. I can’t tell you how many people I work with that don’t deserve the job they have because they are lazy and complain about having responsibility. If you don’t like your job then quit. There are plenty of people out there that will gladly take the job. I personally have some issues with where I work but at least I still do the job I am there to do. I still smile when people come in, help them to the best of my abilities, and wish them a good day when they leave. It really is not that hard but people don’t want to do it so they find some way to get free money for life and they stay at home rotting and leeching off the rest of the country. People pay for those programs and get no thanks for it because we are expected to do so without a word. Some people have become so hyper-moral that they now feel it should just be natural to pay other people to do nothing as long as they have an excuse they can buy into. We pay for people to sit around and teach the next generation how to take advantage of this great country and laugh about it.
I am not against helping people. Nor are my parents or siblings. In fact, up until I moved out of my parents house I was totally against what they believed. Now that I have been out in the world these past years I have come to the realization that they were actually right. People don’t seem to get that we do not believe in “killing people and letting people starve.” I say we need to stop giving away America.
There should be:
A) Less government involvement
and
B) The assistance that is given to people should not also enable those people to leech off the system their entire lives.
People should work for what they make not expect someone to hand it to them because they are too damn lazy to get off their asses and do it themselves.
